Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan Anthony chose his father's alma mater as he committed to Syracuse on Nov. 15. To celebrate Anthony's commitment, his mother La La Anthony hosted a pregaming party with a few friends before Thanksgiving and took to Instagram to share some videos of the party.

In one of her stories, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard was seen sleeping on the couch:

"Pregame Aftermath 😂😂," she captioned her story.

In another story, Anthony was seen freestyling a rap while others cheered him on.

Anthony will likely have had a great Thanksgiving, as he has had a memorable 2024. Earlier this year, while playing for Team Melo, Anthony averaged 19.6 points, 1.5 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game.

In a match against Pro Skills Elite, he broke out and scored 28 points and shot 50% from beyond the arc on May 18. In another match at the NBPA Top 100 camp in Orlando, he scored 42 points and averaged 53% from the field including 44.4% from beyond the arc.

In the match against PSA Cardinals in the 2024 Hustle & Heart Classic game in New York on Oct. 26, he scored 25 points while shooting 54% including 57% from the three-point line.

Kiyan Anthony ranks 35th nationally, ninth in the shooting guard position, and first in New York, as per On3. He had offers from top programs, including Florida State, USC, Providence, Michigan, Ohio State, Illinois, and West Virginia, before committing to Syracuse.

With a NIL valuation of $1.1 million, Anthony ranks at No. 11 in the High School basketball NIL rankings (via On3). He also talked about his NIL deal with PSD Underwear in 2023:

“It’s more than just a partnership,” Kiyan said (via On3). “It’s a collaboration that represents my style and my love of basketball. Together, we’re going to redefine what it means to be comfortable and confident both on and off the court.”

La La Anthony names Kiyan Anthony her GOAT basketball player

The mother-son duo appeared in a YouTube video by Complex in February. They gave their opinions on the GOATs (Greatest of All Time) of various topics including TV shows, rappers, gifts, parties and basketball players, among others.

When it came to naming their GOAT basketball players, La La answered with Kiyan Anthony's name:

"Mine is this kid I know named Kiyan Anthony, because nine months of my life I threw up every single day, nine times a day, laid on a cold bathroom floor because I had the worst and most difficult pregnancy ever. That is why seeing you now on the court and being so amazing you make your mom so proud and you are my GOAT basketball player." (8:18 - 8:45)

Anthony will now join Aaron Womack, Luke Fennell and Sadiq White in Syracuse after committing to the Orange earlier this month.
