Kiyan Anthony's mom La La Anthony shares a dreamy view of NYC's early morning charm 

La La Anthony lives in New York with her son Kiyan Anthony and enjoys the dreamy view that New York offers. On Saturday, La La shared a view of New York's morning, with the early sun glistening through the branches.

And it looks like the Big Apple adores La La as well. Last week, she was honored with a street in New York named after her, called La La Anthony Lane, by the New York City Department of Youth & Community Development.

She received the distinction for her constant charitable efforts, particularly for her prison reform measures under her project, ThreeSixty. This project helps inmates at Rikers Island and provides them with resources and mentorship to young men aged 18 to 21 for their reintegration back into society.

On Friday, La La also shared pictures of a well-spent Christmas with the prison inmates and called it a "perfect" day. She interacted with the prisoners and was even seen putting her hand on one of the prisoner's shoulders.

In March, in an interview with PEOPLE, she spoke about what pushes her to do better for young people and why she strives to work with them.

"At this age, they are still so young," she said. "When you talk to them, especially if you have your own kids, you just become so much more compassionate. It feels like any one of our kids could be one bad decision away from being in a similar situation," she said.

She further shared a success story from her project, ThreeSixty.

"Just recently, one of the kids in my program, who was released not even a little over a year ago, got a full scholarship to Columbia University," La La said. "It's really amazing to see that when you take them out of jail and put them in the right environment, with the right opportunities and love and support, incredible things can happen."

La La Anthony shares a glimpse of her New York home

In 2021, after getting a divorce from NBA star Carmelo Anthony, the Brooklyn native bought a new house for Kiyan and herself. That being said, La La adores her Brooklyn home. In 2021, in an interview given with the Architectural Digest, she was elated about her favorite spots in her new house.

"So I definitely love my living room with the plush couch,” La La said. “And there’s beautiful pastel wallpaper on this huge wall behind it. I just think it makes you feel awake, fresh, and fun.......I just want to surround myself with positivity and positive vibes."

There's even a basketball hoop in the living room for Kiyan. She also spoke about her favorite photograph in the house and called it a 'powerful piece.'

"I just love how it accentuates that part of the house going upstairs. It catches my eye every day—it’s just such a powerful piece. And it was really an important piece of art for me. It symbolizes power and strength, and it’s African,” La La added.

La La Anthony is an actress, producer, and author of two books, namely, "The Love Playbook," and "The Power Playbook." She has nearly 50 film and television credits to her name, and she is also fond of collecting diamonds.
