Kiyan Anthony spotted along with his father Carmelo Anthony at New York Liberty's win over Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA finals

Many notable figures were present at the 2024 WNBA final, including former NBA great Carmelo Anthony with his son Kiyan. Kiyan and Carmelo were spotted in the stands with the eventual champions, the New York Liberty, giving them a shoutout on their Instagram Story.

Carmelo reposted the IG story on his social media handle.

The Liberty defeated the Minnesota Lynx 3-2 in the five-game series, winning the final encounter 67-62 to bring the franchise's first championship title home.

The Liberty power forward Jonquel Jones led her team with 17 points and earned the Finals MVP Award.

It was a great sporting moment for the 17-year-old Kiyan who is on the verge of an important decision in his basketball career. In early October, he announced the three final options he's considering for college. They are Auburn, Syracuse, and USC.

Closer look at Kiyan Anthony's college prospect

Kiyan Anthony is a four-star shooting guard from Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, New York. Kiyan, measuring 6-ft-5 in height and weighing 185 pounds.

He is ranked No. 30 overall in the 2025 class according to On3’s Top-150 Player Rankings. He is also the No. 8 shooting guard in his class and the top player in the state of New York.

Anthony is one of the most highly sought-after prospects in his class, with at least 21 college offers according to 247Sports. He has received offers from Florida State, Arizona State, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio State, and so on.

He has also been on three campus visits. He visited Syracuse and Florida State back in Oct. 2023 and made an official visit to USC on Sept. 26.

As he approaches a crucial stage in his recruiting timeline, with only a season left in high school, all eyes are on Kiyan Anthony. A decision is soon anticipated.

He has expressed his impressions about each of the three programs in past interviews with On3.

About his home state school Syracuse, he sees a young team still in its developmental stages where he could become part of the setup.

He said, “Syracuse has a young core on the team now. And I learned a lot about the coaches and their vision.
“I'm looking for good coaching, and I want to play for a good team,” he added.

The quality of coaching is also important for Kiyan in his search for a college team. Syracuse stands a top favorite in his recruitment; however, the final announcement is awaited.
