Cam Christie was selected as the 46th overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2024 NBA Draft. His older brother Max Christie plays for the Los Angeles Lakers and was drafted in Round 2 as Pick 35 in the 2022 NBA Draft.
Cam Christie appeared on the podcast "Sloane Knows," and in the YouTube video, Christie talked about various topics. The interviewer asks him about how he felt about having an older brother in the NBA while he was in high school. Christie stated that there were more pros than cons of having an elder brother in the league (3:07 to 3:20):
"There were definitely some frustrating things about it but I think there's also more pros than cons just because we're really close and stuff like that. So it didn't really affect our relationship at all and I think it's just always to be able to say that you uh know somebody in the NBA and now um we're both siblings in the NBA," said Christie.
After signing a four-year, $7.9 million contract (according to Michael Scotto of USA Today), Christie featured in two games for the Clippers in the preseason against the Golden State Warriors and the Brooklyn Nets. In the game against the Warriors on Oct. 5, Christie played 11 minutes and recorded three points, two rebounds and one assist while shooting 20% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc.
Against the Nets, Christie played for 16 minutes, scoring three points, grabbing three rebounds and dishing out one assist. He shot 14.3% from the field.
