Bronny James, son of NBA superstar LeBron James, finally got his chance to shine in the G-League against the San Diego Clippers on Saturday, with his younger brother, Bryce James, not missing a beat in his support for him. On the same day, Bryce uploaded a picture of Bronny mid-shot and captioned it:
"Yop."
During a game between the South Bay Lakers (LA Lakers affiliate) and the San Diego Clippers (LA Clipper affiliate), Bronny played 22 minutes, scoring a career-high 16 points with four rebounds, two assists and a block. South Bay won 119-111, and this was especially impressive as it was his first game back from a heel injury suffered in November.
However, he was not South Bay's leading scorer, as Maxwell Lewis led with 26 points, followed by DaJuan Gordon with 20 points. Bronny was still instrumental in the victory, as he and Lewis helped South Bay come back from an 11-point deficit and take a one-point lead at halftime.
For the time being, Bronny will stay at South Bay and improve his game. The team's next contest is against the Valley Suns on Thursday and Friday. Bronny will then head to Cleveland, as South Bay will face the Cleveland Charge on Dec. 27 and 28.
Bryce James missed Bronny's G-League debut
Now a senior, Bryce is one of Sierra Canyon's star players. On Nov. 10, right around when his elder brother was relegated to the South Bay Lakers and played his G-League debut, Bryce was at his school's tip-off event.
During the event, which was to hype up the upcoming basketball season, Bryce James was seen dancing to the cheers of his schoolmates. His parents, LeBron and Savannah, shared the moment on their Instagram Stories.
Bryce started his high school basketball journey with Sierra Canyon before transferring to Campbell Hall High School and then Notre Dame, eventually finding his way back to Sierra Canyon for his senior year.
