Latest updates on Koa Peat's college commitment
Koa Peat, the No. 6 in the 247Sports National ranking for the 2025 class, received offers from 31 colleges. Back in July, speaking to On3’s Jaime Shaw, Peat revealed he has narrowed down the list to 10 schools:
“I narrowed my list to 10. I’ve taken official visits to UNC, Texas, Houston and Michigan. The Michigan visit was with the old staff; they’re not really in the mix now … Duke, Arizona, Arizona State, Houston, Baylor, UCLA and Arkansas are the other schools on my list.”
By November of this year, Peat trimmed the list further to only five colleges —namely, Houston, Arizona State, Texas, Arizona and Baylor — and visited each to evaluate them further.
According to On3's prediction machine, the Arizona Wildcats have the highest chance of 26.1% to sign the No. 1 player in Arizona. Trailing behind are the Arizona State Sun Devils, which have 13.9%, the Texas Longhorns, 11.9%, and the Baylor Bears, which have 9.9% chances, respectively.
However, basketball analyst Travis Branham, appearing on the 247Sports YouTube channel on Nov. 15, predicted it will be a tough fight amongst the competing colleges.
"It's going to be a fight all the way to the end as Houston has done a tremendous job with them (recruitments),” Branham shared.
“Baylor has been in there very deeply, but there's some buzz going around that they may be sliding down the leaderboard down into third, but they are not out of it yet," said Branham. (3:45 - 3:59)
