Kiyan Anthony, son of NBA veteran Carmelo Anthony, is in the spotlight over his unprecedented rise as a top high school basketball player. But there's another interesting aspect of his high school life.
The 6-foot-5 guard from LuHi shares friendly ties with none other than the famous Combs twins, Jessie and D'Lila Combs.
This obviously garners interest about how things are between the fashion icons and the basketball sensation. And the No. 32 top recruit in the 2025 class has an answer. He once revealed about his relationship with Combs twins on the Jayden Defense YouTube channel.
When Jayden poked him about the Combs twins, Kiyan Anthony replied:
“Those like my, like my man, like my sisters. Yeah, like, that's like game. No, we chill like it's not; I don't know, it's like cool.” (2:22)
Complementing their interest in fashion, the Combs twins also indulge in cheerleading and are an integral part of the Sierra Canyon School’s cheerleading squad.
It's something that started “just for fun,” as the Combs Twins once revealed to Rolling Out, but now has culminated into an essential aspect of their high school lives.
On the other hand, Kiyan Anthony is a rising star with a seemingly bright future ahead. In his last game, against Canyon International Academy Arizona, back in September, Anthony Junior contributed 14 points to his team's 83-55 victory.
His exceptional talent has attracted tons of NIL deals and several college offers.
Kiyan Anthony signs major NIL deal ahead of college commitment
A while back, talking with WNBA star Angel Reese, Kiyan revealed the NIL aspect of basketball and how it enables him to evaluate his NBA prospects more closely.
"Obviously, with NIL and everything [you’re] still going to get paid. Yeah, so [obviously] you still making money if you are in college or if you are in a league,” he discussed with Reese. (15:16)
Now, the four-star prospect has landed a major NIL deal with WME Sports, the same company that represents his mother La La.
The latest NIL representation will certainly provide more stability to his career and offer more opportunities to grow as a player. WME Sports also issued a statement expressing their happiness over the deal. In the post that reveals the NIL deal, the caption read:
“WME Sports is proud to announce we have signed Long Island Lutheran guard, Kiyan Anthony, to exclusive NIL representation.”
The latest deals position Kiyan Anthony as one of the top high school basketball prospects. He already has partnerships with renowned brands like Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation, PSD Underwear and Nerf, that have pushed his NIL value to a staggering $1.1 million.
Excited over the news, mother La La took to Instagram to express her joy. She wrote:
“Let's Go 🔥”
Amidst the NIL deal, anticipations are also running high around Kiyan Anthony’s college choice. The young guard is down to three options: USC, Florida and Syracuse.
In the same podcast with Angle Reese, the New York Top recruit in the Class of 2025 piqued the interest of his fans when he revealed his college decision is ‘just two weeks’ away. It's clear now that the big reveal is happening on November 15, on his father's show, at 7 p.m. in Brooklyn.
Interestingly, his father Carmelo Anthony's old college team seems ahead in the race to seal the deal with the No. 6 nationally ranked shooting guard. On 3 basketball analyst Jamie Shaw has predicted that Syracuse has over 60% chance to secure the commitment of Kiyan Anthony.
