On Jan. 9, five-star combo guard Jazzy Davidson joined an elite few as she reached her 2,000-point milestone during the Clackamas Cavaliers' 79-54 win over Springfield. On Friday, the university she signed with, USC, celebrated her big accomplishment on Instagram.
In that same post, USC highlighted her other achievements, including being named to the Nike Hoop Summit Team, the Naismith Midseason Team and the MaxPreps National Player of the Year Watch List. Davidson was also nominated to be a part of the McDonald's All-American game on April 1.
Jazzy Davidson chose Lindsay Gottlieb's program over UConn, UCLA, TCU and Duke last September. The Clackamas star, whose real name is Jasmine, has been described by ESPN as a "high-IQ player who can play any perimeter position and is comfortable all over the floor."
Before making her announcement, she was supposed to have an official visit to UCLA on Oct. 11 but has since canceled it, opting to commit to the Trojans immediately. She previously spoke to On3 regarding her visit to USC.
“[My visit to USC] was 10 out of 10. It was perfect," Davidson said. "The campus is beautiful. It’s a great school educationally, which is really important to me. I met the players and JuJu [Watkins] was my host, so just getting to meet her and getting to know the players was really cool. It’s a really cool family environment."
ESPN ranks her as the No. 3 prospect in the Class of 2025, while On3 has her as the No. 2. Regardless of her ranking, Davidson is among only a few girls high school basketball players to have reached that coveted 2,000-point milestone.
Jazzy Davidson will be the first Oregonian to play in the Women's Game of the Nike Hoop Summit
In one of the things that USC posted about her, Jazzy Davidson also made history for her state as she became the first female player from Oregon to be named to USA Basketball's Nike Hoop Summit team. Previously, only male players from the state were selected for the team, with the last being Jackson Stelstad in 2023.
Other members of the elite squad representing the United States will be Aaliyah Chavez (Texas), Aaliyah Crump (Minnesota), Alexandra Eschmeyer (Colorado), Dee Alexander (Ohio), Sienna Betts (Colorado), Madison Francis (New York), ZaKiyah Johnson (Kentucky), Grace Knox (California), Emilee Skinner (Utah), Jordan Speiser (Missouri) and Hailee Swain (Georgia).
