AJ Dybantsa continued talking about the struggles and sacrifices his family had to make before revealing the Cougars jersey.
"My older sister Samar, my younger sister Jasine, and my dad like you know just making countless sacrifices like moving to Utah, leaving my sisters at home so I mean, it's just for the bigger picture though but I mean I'm just ready you know to announce and on that being said I'll be coming into Brigham Young University," added Dybantsa (1:29 - 1:48).
AJ Dybantsa revealed his top seven list of colleges on August 2. The list included the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Baylor Bears, BYU Cougars, Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas State Wildcats, and North Carolina Tar Heels.
On December 5, he trimmed the list down to four programs, which included Alabama, BYU, North Carolina, and Kansas. Dybantsa shared an IG story with a four-word caption.

AJ Dybantsa talks about BYU coach Kevin Young
AJ Dybantsa had some very nice things to say about the BYU head coach and how he could help him get to the NBA:
“Kevin Young was an NBA coach, so he is telling me that he will bring a lot of NBA styles and concepts to the program. He told me that he thought he would be a good coach to help me get to that next level," he said, adding, “It’s good that he has NBA experience. I mean, I’m trying to get to the NBA, so anyone that has NBA experience or anyone that has brought people to the NBA or coached in the NBA is going to have knowledge for that."
He also talked about the BYU campus:
"The campus there was nice. It is only like three hours away from where Utah Prep is.”
AJ Dybantsa will now join Xavion Staton and Chamberlain Burgess on Young's side.
