People often change their looks in time for the holiday season and five-star small forward and LSU commit ZaKiyah Johnson is no different. She revealed her new look, including blonde hair, on her Instagram stories. She was also wearing a tiger-themed outfit, ala LSU Tigers.
She also wished everyone a 'Merry Christmas' in her post, as well as crediting 'The hair Essentials' for her new look.
ZaKiyah Johnson committed to LSU last November, with the Tigers now having four five-star recruits from the Class of 2025. This includes guard Divine Bourrage, guard Bella Hines and forward Grace Knox.
Because of the massive amount of talent, Kim Mulkey's program has been ranked the No. 1 recruiting class for 2025.
Regarded as the top player in Kentucky, ZaKiyah Johnson had an average of 18.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game during her junior year. She chose to play for the Tigers mostly because of coach Kim Mulkey.
"I chose to play for Coach Mulkey at LSU because I know she knows what it takes to get to the top. LSU feels like home away from home," she said regarding why she chose LSU.
In getting Johnson, Kim Mulkey's program not only gets a tough small forward but also the No. 9 overall player from the Class of 2025 and the No. 3 small forward, according to 247Sports Composite. She has been described as a big scoring threat who is a solid spot shooter and could attack off the dribble.
Mulkey herself has noted Johnson's size and athleticism and what she would be bringing to the Tigers next year.
ZaKiyah Johnson and the Sacred Heart Academy Valkyries end 2024 with a win
On Dec. 23, ZaKiyah Johnson and her team, the Sacred Heart Valkyries, played their final game of the year, and it was against the Galloway Scots. The game started out as a close match, but the Valkyries eventually pulled away and ended the game 71-51.
With this victory, Sacred Heart Academy has now won four games by 20 points or more in the 2024-25 season.
The win over Galloway also ensured that the Valkyries have bounced back from its one-point loss against American Heritage last Dec. 21. Their next game won't be until Jan. 3 when they go on the road to take on the Cooper Jaguars, before taking on the Ryle Raiders on Jan. 8, and then the Mercy Jaguars on Jan. 10.
