Five-star plus cornerback DJ Pickett committed to LSU's 2025 class, but he continues to be the center of recruiting buzz. Miami is one school that hasn't let up in its pursuit, as Mario Cristobal and his coaching staff continue pursuing him for the Hurricanes’ secondary.
This Saturday, the Hurricanes will have another opportunity to impress Pickett, as he is set to return to Miami to watch the program's home opener against the Florida A&M Rattlers at Hard Rock Stadium. His cousin, Canon Pickett, a 2026 four-star interior offensive lineman, will also be in attendance.
The Hurricanes opened the season with a 41-17 road win at the Florida Gators last Saturday. Florida A&M opened the season with a 24-23 win against Norfolk State on August 24. The Rattlers continued by beating South Carolina State 22-18 in their home opener on August 31.
Saturday’s game marks the 12th all-time meeting between Miami and FAMU. Miami leads the series 10-1, with the Rattlers' last victory over the Hurricanes coming in 1979.
