The five-star guard from Overtime Elite High School, Meleek Thomas, shared a couple of on-court snaps. The Instagram story posted on Thursday features Maleek in action. However, it's the caption that got the most attention.
"No, you want with us in that jungle. Then you can't swing on this wine,” the caption read.
In the comments section, LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson stirred the pot with her three-word comment:
"Heard you killa.”
Meleek Thomas is the No. 7 top recruit (via ESPN) in the Class of 2025 and occupies the top spot in the shooting guard by the 247Sports composite ranking. He transferred from Lincoln Park Performing Arts High School in Pittsburgh for Overtime Elite this summer.
Thomas appeared on Flau’jae Johnson’s podcast, "Best of Both Worlds," and talked about his personality.
“I always been like, it always been thoughts of just being good, being great like one of the greats. I am always doing something to be the best at it, so I am not hooping just to be good." Thomas told Johnson. (Timestamp- 6:47).
Thomas averaged 20.3 points, 2.4 assists, and 5.1 rebounds in the Nike EYBL. He hasn't committed yet to any college program but has received multiple offers.
Arkansas’ chances to land Meleek Thomas in 2025 class
Meleek Thomas is a hot target for multiple elite colleges across the country. According to 247 Sports, Meleek has 23 offers in total, but the list has been narrowed down to seven.
Finalists include Arkansas, Alabama, Connecticut, Auburn, Kansas, Pittsburgh and Kansas State. However, his visit to Arkansas has many speculating that he may join the Arkansas Razorbacks.
The recruiting prediction machine by On3 has given Arkansas a 94.2% chance of recruiting the elite shooting guard.
Last season as a junior, Meleek Thomas led the Lincoln Park Performing Arts High School in Pittsburgh to consecutive state championships. John Calipari, the Arkansas Razorbacks' head coach, inducted Darius Acuff Jr., the No. 5 recruit in the 2025 class. He still has one position available, and Meleek Thomas can easily fill it.
Will he commit to the Razorbacks? What are your thoughts about it?
