LSU coach Kim Mulkey's outfit for the game against Auburn turned heads and even went viral on Sunday as many questioned her on-court fashion choice. However, one of her recruits for 2025, five-star ZaKiyah Johnson, reshared her future coach's unique fashion statement.
Mulkey was wearing an actual basketball hoop around her waist. She is known for her fashion choices, previously wearing an all-gold outfit during her time at Baylor. She also donned one full of flowers, and she is considered up there as one of the most uniquely dressed people in college basketball.
LSU won convincingly at the Maravich Center against Auburn, 73-63. The win takes the LSU Tigers to 17-0 and 2-0 in SEC play. Aneesah Morrow led LSU with a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Kailyn Gilbert scored 17 points off the bench. The team trailed 16-11 at the end of the first quarter before outscoring Auburn 27-8 in the second. LSU did not look back and led the game the entire way.
Kim Mulkey puts together a team of four five-stars from the Class of 2025
No. 7 ranked Grace Knox, No. 9 ranked Divine Bourrage, No. 10 ranked ZaKiyah Johnson, and No. 29 ranked Bella Hines have all signed with Kim Mulkey's program. All four of them are considered five-star prospects, which means that the Tigers have a bright future ahead.
No. 1 ranked Aaliyah Chavez was also one of Mulkey's top targets, with LSU making it to her final six schools. However, Mulkey took the team out of contention, with Chavez's final five now being Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Texas, UCLA and South Carolina. She remains uncommitted.
Johnson and Bourrage, both shooting guards, are certified scorers, but who will start next season is still up for debate. Grace Knox is a versatile small forward who is also comfortable collecting rebounds and using her size, whilst Bella Hines is a skilled floor general of a point guard.
