No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2025, AJ Dybantsa, displayed another dominant performance against the national defending champions, Montverde Academy, in the Hoophall Classic on Saturday. However, he could not carry his team to a victory, as Utah Prep was defeated 74-60.
The 6-foot-9 small forward displayed tremendous skills, showing off his dribbling against the Montverde defender before pulling up for a quick shot from beyond the arc and converting it. Made Hoops uploaded the highlight of the shot on Instagram on Wednesday:
Hoops fans were in awe of AJ Dybantsa and posted their reactions in the comments section of the video:

More fans joined the conversation in the comments section to talk about Dybantsa's skill moves while one fan claimed that he traveled:

This fan wanted to be as tall as Dybatnsa "Damn I wish I got the chance to be 6’9 and have the ball in my hands ( I’m a 6’2 center)."

This fan was not a fan of Dybantsa's skill moves, "He did 4 moves and went nowhere."
AJ Dybantsa did not make it to the Hoophall Classic All-Showcase team
Having lost their only game against Montverde in the Hoophall Classic, the Utah Prep forward was not part of the Hoophall Classic All-Showcase team. Dybantsa finished the match with 25 points on 42.1% shooting, grabbed three rebounds, and stole the ball three times. He also converted six of seven shots from the free-throw line.
The boys' team had Long Island Lutheran's Kiyan Anthony, Highland School's Nate Ament, Christopher Columbus' Cameron Boozer, St. Joseph's Tounde Yessoufou, and Prolific Prep's Darryn Peterson.
Utah Prep will take on Sagemont Prep on Jan. 30 in their next match.
