Four-star wide receiver Ah’Mari Stevens committed to Miami on Monday. The St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida) standout is the first prospect to pledge to Hurricanes coach Mario Cristobal’s 2027 class.
Stevens’ cousin, Dallas Crawford, played for Miami, and he has also been a big Hurricanes fan.
"I just been liking Miami since I was a little kid," Stevens said ahead of his commitment, via InsideTheU. "I always used to watch the football games with Miami when I was little, wear all the equipment since I was little."
The 6-foot, 180-pound wideout played a key role in St. Thomas Aquinas’ state championship run in December as he registered 910 yards and 10 touchdowns in his sophomore year. In two high school seasons, Stevens has totaled 67 receptions for 817 yards and nine TDs. According to him, he has recorded a 10.8-second 100-meter dash and a 4.39-second 40-yard dash.
Despite his early success, Stevens is still awaiting national rankings from several recruiting platforms, as sophomore evaluations are ongoing. However, On3 has recognized him as a four-star prospect.
Stevens received 15 offers, including 12 from Power Four programs. Besides Miami, schools like Florida State, Auburn, Ole Miss and Missouri also showed interest.

Miami wide receiver coach Kevin Beard recruited Ah’Mari Stevens and gave him an offer during his freshman season. Hurricanes offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Shannon Dawson also played a big role.
“How the coaches bond, the campus, the offense, the team," Stevens said on Monday, via On3. A lot of stuff that stands out and I’ve been liking them since I was little."
Mario Cristobal and his coaching staff have made huge strides in recruiting top prospects from South Florida. In the 2024 class, the Hurricanes secured JoJo Trader and Chance Robinson, while the 2025 class includes Josh Moore and Malachi Toney. Stevens now adds to this momentum, and his father, Frederick, also expressed admiration for Cristobal’s recruiting prowess.
“Coach Cristobal is a heck of a recruiter," Frederick said. "You can tell by the caliber of players (who have) been there in his short tenure. Who wouldn’t want to play for a hometown product you see blossoming in front of your face" It’s a special situation to have happening right in your backyard.”
The Miami coaching staff is expected to pursue more prospects for its 2026 and 2027 class.
