Four-star safety Xavier Lherisse is one of the emerging juniors in the nation. The standout prospect from Eua Gallie High School in Melbourne, Florida, has been a hot name in the 2026 recruiting class and added his latest offer from Matt Rhule's Nebraska on Monday.
Lherisse shared the news on X, tagging Nebraska defensive backs coach Addison Williams.
"Blessed to have received an offer from @HuskerFootball!!!! @CoachWilliams_7," Lherisse wrote.
Lherisse has received attention from multiple big schools and racked up more than 40 offers. Some of his notable offers came from schools like Miami, Oregon, Georgia, UCF, Auburn, Florida, Clemson, LSU, Oklahoma and Penn State, among others.
Xavier Lherisse is the No. 24 safety in the 2026 class, the No. 296 prospect in the nation and the No. 47 recruit in Florida, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He revealed three months ago that he is in no rush to come to a decision, but Miami has an edge in his recruitment so far, with a 25.2% chance of securing his commitment.
Xavier Lherisse's potential in Nebraska
Xavier Lherisse capped off a phenomenal junior season this year at Eau Gallie High School by recording 41 tackles and six interceptions in the secondary while proving his versatility on offense with 53 receptions for 776 yards. His contributions extend beyond football, as he also competes in basketball and baseball.
In his sophomore season, Lherisse amassed 68 tackles, nine interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries while also adding 90 receiving yards on seven catches and 76 rushing yards with a touchdown on offense.
Lherisse's skills are evident across multiple positions, but he projects to play on the defensive side at the college level. His ball-hawking ability in the secondary makes him a highly sought-after prospect.
Securing a mighty player like Xavier Lherisse would be a big win for Nebraska's 2026 class, which has yet to land a safety prospect. The Cornhuskers’ current commitments in this cycle include quarterback Dayton Raiola, wide receiver Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte and cornerback CJ Bronaugh, all three-star prospects.
If Lherisse joins the fold, he would also become Nebraska’s first four-star recruit in the cycle.
