Duncanville High School’s Keelon Russell, a five-star quarterback and Alabama commit, continues to dominate headlines after a stellar senior season. Recently named to the 2025 Under Armour All-America Game roster, Russell expressed his excitement with a simple emoji on Instagram, responding to the game’s lineup announcement.

Russell's final year with the Duncanville Panthers was nothing short of extraordinary. He passed for an astounding 4,177 yards and 55 touchdowns, with only five interceptions—a performance that rivals even professional-level standards.

These achievements earned him multiple accolades, including Texas Gatorade Player of the Year earlier this month. On Friday, he received one of the highest honors in high school football, being named the Maxwell National High School Player of the Year.

Ranked No. 2 among quarterbacks in the 2025 class by 247Sports composite rankings, Russell recently flipped his commitment from SMU to Alabama, adding significant talent to the Crimson Tide’s roster.

Jalen Milroe, Alabama’s redshirt junior quarterback, praised Russell's potential and connection to their shared Texas roots.

“He’s a special cat,” Milroe told AL.com. “There’s a reason why he’s the No. 1 quarterback in the state of Texas, in the country. He’s a big-time recruit because of who is as a person.”
“He’s a Texas kid, I’m a Texas kid,” Milroe added. “So to have another Texas guy in the building is going to be awesome. I know he’s going to be coached absolutely at his best by coach (Nick) Sheridan, coach (Kalen) DeBoer. So he’s in good hands here.”

Keelon Russell and Alabama’s elite 2025 class shine in the Under Armour All-America game roster

The roster for the 2025 Under Armour All-America Game has been unveiled. Alabama leads all programs, with seven signees selected for the prestigious event. Florida and Oregon trail close behind with six representatives each, while Texas and Georgia boast five apiece.

Among Alabama’s standout players is Russell from Duncanville, Texas. Other Alabama players earning All-America honors include running back Akylin Dear (No. 2 RB), tight end Marshall Pritchett (No. 21 TE), and interior offensive linemen Michael Carroll (No. 1 IOL) and Micah DeBose (No. 14 IOL).

Linebacker Darrell Johnson (No. 12 LB) and cornerback Dijon Lee (No. 4 CB) round out the Tide’s selections. While Alabama has solidified its offensive line with Carroll and OT Jackson Lloyd, there’s speculation surrounding Ty Haywood, a five-star offensive tackle, who has yet to sign.

The class also features notable flips, including four-star wide receiver Derek Meadows from LSU and Dear from Ole Miss.
