On Thursday, Alijah Arenas and the Chatsworth Chancellors took on five-star Jason Crowe Jr. and the Inglewood Sentinels in a classic. Inglewood came out on top, 88–84, with Crowe getting a game-high 55 points, while Alijah had 34. As it turns out, the two are family friends.
Laura Govan, Alijah Arenas' mother, former reality star and former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas' ex, shared on her Instagram stories that their family has a connection with the Crowes. Jason Crowe Jr. is the son of former NBA player Jason Crowe.
"Me and My 2 Body Guards @alijah0arenas @jasoncrowejr," she wrote in the caption of her Instagram story.
On Friday, the day after the Inglewood vs. Chatsworth showdown, Govan also spoke about the two five-star prospects on her Instagram stories, calling them "My babies."
Alijah Arenas had a slow start to the game, going 0-11, and ended the first half with just nine points, while Jason Crowe Jr. was red-hot throughout the game. The first half ended with a score of 47–33, though Arenas came alive in the second half and even led the Chancellors to get the lead in the fourth quarter. However, the Sentinels were too much and escaped with the win.
While that game brought much attention to Crowe and Alijah, their teams lost their next respective games. Inglewood lost to Canyon 80–70, while Chatsworth lost to Prescott in overtime, 93–87.

After back-to-back losses against Inglewood and Prescott, the Chatsworth Chancellors finally got a win during the Classic at Damien event on Sunday, after a close 66–63 victory on Saturday.
Alijah Arenas had 33 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Velijah Miller added nine points, seven rebounds and six assists. Tekeio Philips had 11 points and five rebounds in that game as well.
The Chancellors had been reeling on the defensive end during the previous two games, allowing the opposing team's star players to score over 50 points during those losses. While Crowe scored 55 points over Chatsworth, Prescott's three-star UC San Diego commit Uriah Tenette had 54 against the Chancellors, including that game-tying point that sent the game to overtime.
Chatsworth will open 2025 against Long Beach Poly on Saturday and then Cleveland High School on Jan. 8.
