Santa Ana Mater Dei running back Jordon Davison has been one of the Michigan Wolverines' top targets for this recruiting cycle. He completed an official visit to Ann Arbor, accompanied by his family and his mentor, Steve Briscoe, who shared his perspective following the visit.

Briscoe lauded the unique atmosphere at Schembechler Hall, noting that each visit improves upon the last.

"Michigan definitely blew us away this weekend once again," Briscoe said (via On3).

A highlight of the trip was the involvement of Sean Magee, Michigan’s recent addition to their staff as a former general manager. The visit also featured a detailed presentation on the role of a running back at Michigan for Davison.

"Just the presentation on what it’s like being a running back at Michigan was pretty cool," Briscoe said."Showing him the relationship between what he’s running now at Mater Dei and what (Michigan) currently runs. Just same old, same old. Picking up what we left off from the last trip, honestly. They knocked it out of the park, for sure.”

The Wolverines leveraged their recent history of producing elite running backs like Donovan Edwards and Hassan Haskins to pitch Jordon Davison on his potential future in Ann Arbor.

“They see him as one of them, if not better," Briscoe added. "Just seeing how good they’ve developed. So, it’s like, ‘You know how good you are. Imagine what you can do here and how far we can take you being here at Michigan.’ That’s the main message."

Davison had the chance to deepen his connection with Michigan’s new running backs coach, Tony Alford. Head coach Sherrone Moore’s active involvement in Davison’s visit also left a positive impression on the family, as noted by Briscoe:

“Coach Alfred and Coach Moore, probably outside of the recruiting staff. That’s who we spent the most time with the entire time. Every time we had something going on, we were with them."

The mentor also had huge praise for the seamless transition from former head coach Jim Harbaugh to the current leadership of Moore. He also liked the presentations by strength and conditioning coach Justin Tress and nutritionist Abigail O’Connor.

Alabama also sits high on Jordon Davison's priority list

Jordon Davison also has Alabama among his top choices as he narrows down his college decision. Alongside Alabama, his top four schools include Michigan, Ohio State and Oregon. His recruitment journey saw him visit Alabama officially just before heading to Michigan.

“It’s very high since I’m taking an OV there,” Davison told On3 during his official visit. “Just the relationships and development. [Their running back history] is something special for sure.”

Following an unofficial visit in March, May 31 marked Jordon Davison's second but official visit to the institute. Head coach Kalen DeBoer even had a conversation with Davison to discuss the vision they are building at Alabama.

Running backs coach Robert Gillespie has also played a major role in the team’s two-year pursuit of Davison.

“He’s been nothing but loyal and genuine to me. [His message] is that I’m his guy and what am I waiting on. That’s my guy, man," Davison added. "Just his commitment and how he treats his players. Also, how he develops his players. All good things I like about Coach G.”

Davison is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 199 overall talent in the country, the No. 13 running back in the nation, and the No. 16 prospect in California. The On3 Industry Ranking lists him as the No. 91 overall talent in the country, the No. 5 running back in the nation, and the No. 8 prospect in California.

Jordon Davison has plans for official visits to Oregon from June 14-16 and Ohio State from June 21-23.
