Coach Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs have scored a huge win in the recruiting race by adding Todd Robinson to their already stacked roster. The four-star prospect from Valdosta, Georgia, announced his commitment to the Bulldogs on Monday.

Robinson is ranked No. 155 overall nationally and is considered the No. 7 running back in the country by 247Sports. The On3 Industry Ranking lists him as a three-star athlete, placing him as the No. 416 overall prospect and No. 44 in Georgia.

Michigan had been aggressively pursuing Todd Robinson, especially after new running back coach Tony Alford recently visited Valdosta to extend an offer. Despite Michigan's strong push, the 5-foot-11, 195-pound running back's official visit to Georgia sealed his decision to join the Bulldogs.

"AGTG... 1000% committed," Robinson wrote on X.

Robinson has been recruited as a running back and wide receiver by various schools, but Georgia plans to utilize his skills in the defensive backfield. This makes him the first defensive back commitment for the Bulldogs in the current recruiting cycle under safety coach Travaris Robinson.

Todd Robinson’s addition brings the total number of Georgia's committed players to 12. The move also propelled the school's recruiting class up two spots to No. 6 in the 247Sports Team Class Rankings.

The Bulldogs' class already includes highly touted prospects, including Elyiss Williams, Ethan Barbour, Jadon Perlotte, Darren Ikinnagbon, Ryan Montgomery, Mason Short, Stephon Shivers and Bo Walker, among others.

Todd Robinson shares why Georgia stood out on his priority list

Todd Robinson’s commitment to Georgia is a notable victory given the competition for his talent. He had offers from top-tier programs including Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, Tennessee and LSU, among others.

But the young star thinks his decision to commit to the Dawgs comes as no surprise to many, given their recent dominance and their reputation for producing elite defensive backs.

"Georgia is the top program in college football right now. They have an excellence at the DB position, producing DBs," Todd Robinson said (via 247 Sports). "And then who's the best college football coach right now? It's Kirby Smart, so that would really be why. Obviously they want me over there."

Robinson's commitment followed his official visit to Georgia, which took place after a trip to Alabama the previous weekend. He closely interacted with the program's defensive backs group and its coaches during his time in Athens.

"They welcomed me with open arms to the team, but there was no pressure to try to get me to commit," he said.

Todd Robinson is fresh off a phenomenal junior season with Valdosta High School, where he completed 59.9% of his passes for 1,087 yards, throwing nine touchdowns against seven interceptions. He also rushed for 1,001 yards and five touchdowns and even contributed as a receiver with three catches for 42 yards and a touchdown.
