Three-star wide receiver Jamar Browder has flipped his commitment from NC State to Michigan's 2025 class. The standout plays for Santaluces in Lake Worth, Florida, and he originally committed to the Wolfpack in June.
The switch comes as no major surprise, as Browder frequently spoke about Michigan’s appeal and the potential he saw in joining the Wolverines. Michigan's 2025 class still lacks a quarterback commitment, which has left Sherrone Moore and his coaching staff aggressively pursuing five-star LSU QB commit Bryce Underwood.
Despite the uncertainty around the QB situation, 6-foot-4, 205-pound Browder showed confidence in his abilities.
"I think it'll be in good hands if I go there, and I'm not worried (about no QB being committed because) if I'm good enough, I'll make the catch," Browder told 247 Sports last week.
Browder has every reason to be confident, as his performance this season has been phenomenal. Over the first seven games, he has averaged 20 yards per reception, tallying 801 yards and seven touchdowns on 40 catches. He is ranked by Rivals as the nation's No. 79 wide receiver in the 2025 class and the No. 93 in Florida.
The flip is a setback for NC State, whose 2025 class is now down to 17 committed players, placing it 48th nationally. The Wolfpack still has two wide receivers committed: four-star Jerel Bolder from North Carolina’s Forest Hills High School and three-star Tristan Teasdell from Tuscarora High School in Virginia.
Michigan Wolverines' 2025 class update following Jamar Browder's commitment
On Sept. 24, Michigan wide receiver coach Ron Bellamy extended a scholarship offer to Jamar Browder, and the relationship quickly blossomed. He visited the school for an unofficial trip that same month and returned for another visit last weekend. Despite Michigan’s 38-17 loss to Oregon, he remained impressed with the Wolverines.
“The coaches were super down to earth and high energy," Browder told On3. "I loved the vibe of the players. It was awesome, honestly. It was always cool to see that big M logo on TV. Now being able to see it in person and what it means was pretty cool.”
The Wolverines have already flipped Georgia commit Shamari Earls and former Cincinnati defensive lineman Benny Patterson, while also securing a commitment from five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola to their 2025 class. Browder joins four-star prospects Andrew Marsh and Jacob Washington in the wide receiver room.
Michigan now boasts 19 players in its 2025 class, ranking No. 10 in the nation.
