Carrollton High School (Georgia) cornerback Antonio Cromartie Jr. will take an official visit to Florida State this weekend, per Rivals. The standout prospect from the Class of 2025 is the son of former Seminoles cornerback, Antonio Cromartie.
Mike Norvell's program extended an offer to Cromartie on Christmas day. He made several visits to Tallahassee last year, including the Seminoles Spring Showcase in April and a game-day visit during Florida State's 20-12 loss to Memphis on Sept. 14. However, this will be the first time he will be visiting the school as an official target.
Cromartie had a phenomenal senior campaign at Carrollton this season, where he recorded 85 tackles, four pass breakups and four forced fumbles.
Meanwhile, senior Cromartie, a standout for the Seminoles in the early 2000s, recorded 122 tackles and two interceptions during his senior season. His NFL career was equally remarkable with four Pro Bowl selections and a first-team All-Pro nod in 2007.
FSU has a strong track record of landing legacy recruits, signing at least one in each of the past three cycles. Current roster members like Lamont Green Jr. exemplify this trend.
Antonio Cromartie Jr. shares Florida State's standing in his recruitment
Antonio Cromartie Jr. has not yet secured rankings from any major recruiting channels, and Florida State is the only Power Four school to send him a scholarship offer. That's why the Seminoles instantly became favorites to land him, with a 99.9% chance of securing his commitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
After receiving the offer, he told On3 in December:
“FSU is my dream school. Been waiting for this one for a long time and now it’s finally here."
In an interview with Rivals' Sam Spiegelman, Cromartie revealed the Seminoles' position in his recruitment:
"Florida State is definitely on the top of my list."
Being a legacy recruit, Cromartie has always been around FSU and has high trust in Mike Norvell.
“Norvell is also great," Cromartie told FSU Wire. "He’s building something special down there.”
The Seminoles have 20 committed players in the 2025 class, which ranks No. 20 in the nation. The cycle already includes three cornerbacks in Gregory Thomas, Shamar Arnoux and Max Redmon. They have also added 16 players in the transfer portal.
