Four-star guard Kiyan Anthony just capped off his 2025 Hoophall Classic stint on a positive note, and his mother, La La, couldn't have been prouder. After posting a game-high 17 points in Long Island Lutheran High School's 63-57 win over Arizona Compass Prep on Sunday, Anthony was gracing the Blake Arena in Springfield College for the continuation of the weekend games again the next day.
The Syracuse Orange commit and his teammates were matched up against the La Lumiere School on Monday, with La La Anthony also in attendance. She posted her son on her Instagram stories.
"Back at it!!!" she captioned.
After the 17-point outing just a day ago that bagged him the game MVP honors, Anthony followed it up with another remarkable performance to the tune of 16 big markers, two rebounds, two assists and a steal that was integral in his squad's 68-55 victory over La Lumiere.
La La Anthony was also present in the previous matchup, where she cheered for Kiyan in his MVP award-winning display.
Being able to showcase his elite offensive bag and overall intangibles, the 36th-ranked recruit in the Class of 2025 was able to pad on his senior year of college basketball throughout the weekend. After the game, Newsday reported that Kiyan Anthony was quoted as saying this about his school's last two victories:
"Hoophall is one of the biggest showcases in the world. Coming back from injury and not playing so well recently... I just came out here and showed my skill, talent and everything I've been working on."
According to the Long Island Lutheran High School basketball Instagram page, Anthony and the rest of the team will return to action on Friday against the Half Hollow Hills East on their home floor.
Kiyan Anthony is looking to follow in his father's journey at Syracuse and beyond
Along with carving out his own collegiate basketball journey with the Syracuse Orange, much like his father, NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, Kiyan Anthony is also hoping he could have the same Hall of Fame-caliber career as his dad. The Spalding Hoophall Classic was played where the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame is, where Carmelo will most likely be a part of soon.
"I'm pretty sure my dad's going to be back here, and I look forward to coming back," Anthony told Newsday. "Coming back this year, I knew what type of role I was going to have on the team."
With all of the support coming from his parents, Kiyan Anthony is poised to make his mark when he joins the Syracuse Orange later this year as the 6-foot-5 guard works toward the goal of a Hall of Fame basketball career.
