Incarnate Word Academy's high school hoops team in St. Louis, Missouri, has not been defeated since 2020. The Red Knights defeated Blue Valley North at the Sophie Cunningham Classic on Saturday, extending their winning streak to 139. With this, the team has set the national record for the most consecutive wins in HS girls' basketball history.

Incarnate Word Academy, based in St. Louis, Missouri, won the game 68-51, with WNBA star Sophie Cunningham of the Phoenix Mercury watching the game in person. The historic win happened at the Bob Bourchard Court at Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri, and the achievement has gotten hoops fans talking.

"Incarnate Word been a program for years. Napheesa Collier came out the program." One commenter pointed out.
"Congratulations ladies!!! So awesome!" another commenter added.
"IWA - all the way!" one fan commented.

Meanwhile, others questioned why the team, despite being undefeated, is not ranked in the top 10.

"How are they 139-0 and nationally ranked 15😂," one commenter asked.
"How does this happen? They don’t play in the tourney or?" another commenter asked.
"Get it ladies💪💪," another person commented.

Incarnate Word Academy has won the state's Class 6 championship for four years in a row, from 2021 to 2024. All these years came under coach Dan Rolfes, who had previously led the school to several state championships. The team is once again the favorite to win a state championship this year.

Incarnate Word Academy defeated team led by a five-star to set national record

Incarnate Word Academy tied the 138-win record on December 28, after a 66-47 victory over Lift for Life Academy during the 50th Visitation Christmas Tournament. In its first official game of the year, the team had to beat Blue Valley North to set the record. That team was led by ESPN's five-star recruit and the No. 17 ranked prospect in the Class of 2025, Jaliya Davis.

Davis scored 18 points during the game, while four-star recruit Aubrey Shaw led Blue Valley North with 25 points. However, their combined efforts were not enough to stop the IWA Red Knights from getting the record.

Addi Owen scored 20 points, four assists and four steals and got the MVP honors for the event. Nevaeh Caffey and Peyton Hill each added 10 points for the Red Knights, en route to a historic win.
