AJ Dybantsa, the top prospect in the 2025 CBB recruiting class, is considering offers from Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, BYU, Kansas, Kansas State and North Carolina.
The 2022-23 Gatorade Massachusetts Boys Basketball Player of the Year averaged 19.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.5 blocks per contest for St. Sebastian’s School. He will make his fifth official visit when he travels to UNC for a meeting with Hubert Davis.
During the FIBA U17 World Cup, Dybantsa stood out for Team USA, averaging 14.1 points, 4.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds on 58.7% shooting.
Dybantsa discussed his UNC visit with Aidan Jensen of USA Today's Tar Heels Wire:
"I like it a lot – Chapel Hill. They have a lot of professional wings… He [Hubert Davis] was telling me I'll play the wing role there. I'll play on-ball and off-ball, I'll be a two-way player – I'll be a do-it-all wing."
Which team has the highest chance of recruiting AJ Dybantsa?
Every program in the nation wants the number one recruit. That stated, Dybansta has a dillema with so many schools vying for him. According to On3, BYU has the highest chance of signing AJ Dybantsa at 20.3% odds.
North Carolina follows BYU with 13.4% odds and Auburn is third with an 11.5% chance of landing the blue chiper. Both Alabama and USC have a 9.6% prediction of signing him. Meanwhile, North Carolina sits closest to Dybantsa's hometown while BYU is 2099 miles away.
Last month, college basketball insiders Rob Cassidy and Jason Jordan gave their take on AJ Dybantsa's big decision:
“I’ll take the Cougars. Things seem to be falling into place over there.
"There is serious mutual interest between Kevin Young’s program and the No. 1 prospect in the 2025 Rivals150. I am convinced the Cougars can close the deal by the end of the week. There’s a long way to go in the Dybantsa sweepstakes, and I’m sure another viable option will emerge down the road. However, BYU is the clear leader in the clubhouse for the time being."
Everyone is excited to see where Dybantsa will sign. He has a bright future and will add noted value to any roster he plays for. Which team do you think he will play for next season?
