Five-star small forward AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 ranked prospect from the class of 2025, showed some love to a future teammate on his Instagram stories. The BYU commit shared a video of four-star center, seven-footer Xavion Staton, visiting BYU to watch its game against Arizona State on New Year's Eve.

Staton plays for Las Vegas' Sierra Vista and is rated a four-star by the On3 Industry Ranking. He is ranked No. 29 overall and the No. 2 center, as well as the No. 1 prospect in the state of Nevada. Staton chose the Cougars over UNLV, Kansas, Michigan, and Stanford last November.

Staton was BYU's second commit from the class of 2025a after three-star power forward Chamberlain Burgess. The latest commit is, of course, Dybantsa, who announced his decision last month during an episode of ESPN's "First Take."

BYU had a big 20-point win against the Sun Devils on Tuesday at the Marriot Cente, 76-56. It was fueled by junior Richie Saunders' career-high 30 points. The game also marked the return of Russian freshman guard Egor Demin, who had been out for four weeks after suffering a knee contusion. He scored four points and had seven assists and four rebounds.

Saunders also came back from injury, though his absence was shorter as he was out after suffering a concussion on Dec. 14.

AJ Dybantsa and Utah Prep are scheduled for high-profile matchups in January

Before he plays for BYU, AJ Dybantsa still has to finish his senior season at Utah Prep. The team has a busy month ahead, and they will be kicking off 2024 at Hoophall West in Phoenix, Arizona, on Saturday. Their opponent will be Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy.

The team will then travel to New Jersey for the Iverson Classic and take on the four-star duo of Jermaine O'Neal Jr. and Jaden Toombs and Dynamic Prep, which has been red-hot so far, concluding last weekend's Jordan Holiday Classic undefeated, 2-0.

However, their biggest challenge on the schedule will be happening during Hoophall East in Springfield, Massachusetts, as Utah Prep will take on reigning Chipotle national champion the Montverde Academy Eagles on Jan. 19.

AJ Dybantsa and crew are also scheduled to compete at the Montverde Invitational in Montverde, Florida, on Jan. 31, though their opponent has not been announced yet.
