Jared Curtis, the top-ranked quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class, is setting the stage for a highly anticipated decision by planning three official campus visits. The 6-foot-3.5, 225-pound standout from Nashville Christian School recently announced his shortlist of six schools: Oregon, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Auburn and Ohio State.
Days later, Curtis revealed plans to visit Oregon (June 6-8), Georgia (June 13-15) and South Carolina (June 20-22).
Previously committed to Georgia for seven months, Curtis de-committed in October to reassess his options. He has since hosted coaches from South Carolina, Auburn, Georgia and Oregon and is scheduled to visit Alabama for their junior day on Feb. 1.
In the fall of 2023, Curtis led Nashville Christian to a stellar 13-1 record, culminating in a state championship. His performance earned him the 2024 Gatorade Tennessee Football Player of the Year title.
Over 14 games, he amassed 2,830 passing yards and 40 touchdown passes while rushing for 637 yards and 18 scores.
As the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, Curtis is widely considered the best quarterback in his class and Tennessee’s top-ranked recruit.
Jared Curtis keeps Georgia in contention after de-commitment, focuses on official visits
Jared Curtis is the No. 1-ranked quarterback in the nation in the 2026 class and is ranked fourth overall in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
“That morning, I called coach (Mike) Bobo, coach (Kirby) Smart … told them about the news," Curtis recalled about his de-commitment (via On3). "Of course, they took it how I expected they would, no hard feelings.
"Obviously, they’re not out of the race yet, you know, love them guys and I’d love to get back up there and talk to them. But you know, I just wanted to visit other places and not be committed, so that’s what I’m going to do, and still keeping Georgia in the way.”
Curtis has stated his intention to wait until completing his official visits before making a final decision.
“I will wait until official visits to make my decision,” Curtis said. “I will get out more. When official visits open up, I will get down on some visits, see the school and see what I like about it.
"The factors when I make a decision will be the coaching staff, my relationship with the coaching staff and the class they bring in this year. Those and the class I would bring in with me would be the biggest things.”
The Georgia Bulldogs, aiming to secure Curtis for their 2026 recruiting class, will host him from June 13-15. Georgia’s class includes four commits: wide receiver Vance Spafford, tight end Lincoln Keys, cornerback Jontavius Wyman and defensive lineman Seven Cloud. Their class is ranked 14th nationally.
