On Thursday, Aaliyah Chavez stole the limelight at a face-off against Plainview High School, scoring 46 points. During the intense game, Aaliyah Chavez was involved in a staredown with her opponents, displaying her competitive edge.

In a viral clip shared by @Ballislifewbb, the young hooper was seen dribbling past her competitors, aiming for the bucket.

In the intense pacing that followed, Chavez appeared in a heated facedown with the opposing team, with fans saying, "Mess with Aaliyah, and she's gonna drop a smooth 40 or 50."

Chavez started her basketball journey at her father's basketball coaching academy, "The Lab Certified LLC." Last week, the Prestige Management Group shared a list of the top 10 nominees for the Prestigious Naismith Women's Player of the Year award. Aaliyah Chavez secured a spot in the nomination, along with LSU commit Divine Bourrage from Iowa.

Taking a step further, she topped the charts at Sporting News' All America's girl's basketball Preseason All-American team. The team features the most promising 20 high school players across America. The list also features Kaleena Smith, Emilee Skinner, and Jerzy Robinson.

Aaliyah Chavez visits the Bruins and the Sooners

In late October, Aaliyah Chavez made her official visit to California. In an interview with On3, she opened up about her views on UCLA's visit.

"I’ve never been to California, so I want to take a visit there for sure. I like the way they play… They’re not slowed down. They’re recruiting me very well,” Chavez said of UCLA to On3’s Talia Goodman this summer.

Last month, she also visited Oklahoma. Chavez revealed multiple crucial factors in her decision to pick a university. In an interview with On3, she shared her preferences.

"I don’t want a coach that’s low energy, and I need to make sure that they’re going to be there the whole time [I am]. I don’t want a coach that’s just going to be there for two years… I want them to be there all four years."

According to On3's prediction machinery, Oklahoma has a 37% chance compared to UCLA's 32.3%. Aside from these two, Texas, Texas Tech, and South Carolina are eager to take Chavez in. As of now, she has not committed to any university.
