No. 1 women's basketball prospect in the 2025 class Aaliyah Chavez (247Sports) reshared a video posted by her father Sonny Chavez to her Instagram story. The video showed the mother-daughter duo of Andrea and Aaliyah engaging in a lighthearted competition.

Andrea actively shares updates on her daughters Aaliyah and Bel'A Chavez and her husband Sonny.
She also took to her Instagram to share a video with a funny caption of the Lubbock, TX, native after her visit to the Oklahoma Sooners in October:
"Current #seniorsundaymood. I should have left her in Oklahoma."
On the court, hoops fans await Chavez's college decision with her senior year started. She has offers from top programs including Texas Tech, South Carolina, Texas, LSU, USC, UCLA and North Carolina.
The Monterey High School senior has played 129 games for her school, averaging 31.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 3.1 steals per game in over three years.
During her junior year, the Monterey player started 35 matches and averaged a double-double as she had 37.8 ppg, 10.1 rpg, 4.4 apg and 3.5 spg.
This season, she is averaging 34.9 ppg, 9.1 rpg and 3.9 apg in 21 games.
Aaliyah Chavez's mother has fun dropping her at school
Andrea Chavez shared a video of dropping off her 18-year-old daughter at her school on Dec. 10, telling her to have a good day.
"When she's 18 but still lets you take her to school for your birthday," Andrea captioned her story.
On3's recruitment prediction machine suggests that Oklahoma has the highest chance of landing Chavez (37.0%). They are closely followed by UCLA's 32.3% chance and Texas Tech, LSU and Texas with less than a 10% chance of signing the Mamba Invitational MVP
