Hoops fans are well-acquainted with Aaliyah Chavez’s fierce dominance on the court, but what often gets overshadowed is her playful, witty personality off it. Her sense of humor and lighthearted moments truly showcase the multifaceted athlete she is.
On Wednesday, the top-ranked player shared an Instagram story featuring two young fans, Georgia and Ben, who were caught passionately cheering for her with the phrase, "Let Aaliyah Cook.” The snap was shared from Chole Inam Jones' Instagram handle, where the original post had the hilarious caption:
“If you heard ‘LET Aaliyah Chavez COOK’ 847 times, this is where it's coming from,” to which Aaliyah Chavez replied with two big smiley emojis.
But that's not the first time Aaliyah Chavez has revealed her funny side. In another instance, the 5-foot-9 guard mimicked her sibling Kingston Chavez’s pose in a photo. The collage, shared by Sonny Chavez on his Instagram handle on November 25, featured both Kingston and Aaliyah Chavez’s poses side by side.
Father Sonny Chavez captioned the post with a heartwarming message:
"This makes my ❤️ happy."
While Aaliyah Chavez is all goofy and fun, she is also unafraid to speak her mind.
Aaliyah Chavez Shut Haters With Strong Words
Aaliyah Chavez might enjoy sharing fun moments, but she also knows how to use her voice when it counts. It was apparent when the No. 1 WBB prospect showcased her no-nonsense attitude by calling out a hater with strong, direct words after the game against Allen on Nov. 14.
Chavez had an excellent run on the court, making 38 points and helping her team, Monterey High School, Lubbock, TX win the game 70-40. Ballislife Women's Basketball posted highlights of Chavez’s gameplay on their Instagram story.
Besides her precise moves, the video also included Aaliyah sending a strong message to her haters:
"Listen, don't call me cocky; you don't know me, okay? Don't do that; don't disrespect me," Chavez said.
Right now, hoop fans eagerly await Aaliyah Chavez's decision on which college she will pick. While Chavez didn't say anything, her mother revealed some details regarding her college decision. Right after the 18-year-old visited Texas on Sep. 27, her mother shared an Instagram story putting an end to her commitment rumors. Mother Andrea Chavez captioned the story with bold text:
“#noncommitted”
The battle to secure Aaliyah Chavez's commitment is heating up, with Oklahoma having the highest chance of landing the 5-star Prospect, as per On3.
