On the court, Nate Ament is ranked as the No. 4 recruit in the Class of 2025 and is one of the few top 10 players who has yet to commit to a college program. However, off the floor, the small forward uses his Instagram following to support his friends' and teammates' successes and news.
On Monday, Ament reshared his Highland teammate and fellow 2025 recruit, Julian Rivera's post, which was captioned, "Last Ride," on his Instagram story.
"👂👂👂," Ament wrote.
Rivera was named the Elite Prep League Player of the Week for Nov. 18 to Nov. 24 after a home win against Massanutten. The senior scored 25 points on an impressive 83.3% shooting, including 75% from beyond the arc. He also grabbed seven boards and dished out four assists in that game.
As for Ament, he averaged 19.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 3.7 assists per game in his junior season at Highland School. He also played in the Under Armour Elite 24 camp and averaged 16.0 ppg and 3.0 rpg on 42.7% shooting from beyond the arc.
For Team USA, Ament won a gold medal at the 2024 FIBA Men's U18 AmeriCup. He posted averages of 3.7 ppg, 1.0 spg and 1.5 rpg on 55.6% shooting and 25% from the 3-point line.
Hoops fans await Ament's college decision and the No. 1-ranked player in Virginia talked about his plans in a video uploaded on YouTube by "Swish Cultures" on Oct. 16:
"I will take two visits in February: The North Carolina at Duke game and then Arizona at Kansas State.
"I'm going to try and squeeze in a Kentucky visit as well. I want to play for a coach and staff I can trust. A program's plan for me and for other players they are recruiting is important. How they value me as a player and person is most important to me."
