“No one does it better”: Gilbert Arenas' ex Laura Govan is a proud mom after son Alijah Arenas' performance

Gilbert Arenas' ex, Laura Govan, often showers her kids with support, especially on social media, as her Instagram is filled with posts about their basketball highlights.

On Sunday, she shared highlights of her eldest son, Alijah Arenas against Long Beach Poly. He dropped 40 points in a losing effort (61-60).

"No one does it better than... @alijah0arenas @thehoopspill," she wrote.

All four of her kids play basketball. Eldest child Izela plays for Louisville, while Alijah is a five-star shooting guard, playing for Chatsworth. Meanwhile, Hamiley Arenas, their youngest daughter, is impressing many as a freshman high school star at Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) and their youngest son Aloni is a middle school sensation.

Despite Alijah's performance, Chatsworth High School has struggled over the last few games, losing four of its last five and now having a 10-5 record. He scored 43 in a losing effort to Etiwanda to close out the year and also scored 54 against Prescott last month.

Laura Govan says ex, Gilbert Arenas, using their children to manipulate her

Laura Govan actually does not get along well with her ex, Gilbert Arenas, even admitting that her relationship with him is worse now than it was when they broke up. However, she said that she also has to put up with him for the sake of their four kids.

During an interview with Carlos King last year, she said they were never married.

“We were never married … our relationship today is the same as it was 12 years ago. It’s actually gotten worse," she told King.

She also claimed that the former Washington Wizards star is using her love for her children to manipulate her.

“Now he uses the children. Now he knows how to manipulate it because he can’t directly bother me … he attacks the motherhood side of it," she said.

She and her ex have constantly butted heads over their children, and they have even gone to court multiple times. One of their main causes of disagreement is over child support, with Gilbert successfully getting a judge to lower it to just $7,000, which she says is not enough.
