The Chatsworth Chancellors, led by the five-star son of Gilbert Arenas, Alijah Arenas, took on the Prescott Badgers, led by three-star UC San Diego commit Uriah Tenette, during the "Classic at Damien" on Friday. Prescott got away with the close overtime victory, 93-87, but Arenas still exploded with 56 points during the ball game.

Alijah Arenas' mom, former reality show star Laura Govan, shared her son's losing effort, complete with a touching caption.

"56 Huh!? Straight Shooter…. Keep Growing Papa No One See you working In The Dark Let Them See You Shining In The Light @alijah0arenas ❤️#ProudMom," Govan wrote.

Despite Gilbert Arenas being the one training his children, it was his ex and their mom, Govan, who raised them and spent the most time with them. She highlighted that she knew how hard Alijah had been working to reach that level of skill.

Chatsworth was actually leading late in the fourth quarter but could not stop Tenette from knocking down the game-tying basket, 78-78, sending the game into overtime. Tenette and Arenas combined for 110 points during that game, with Tenette scoring 54 points.

Govan also included images from the Chatsworth vs. Inglewood game, in which Arenas' team also lost 88-84. However, this was because she also has a very close connection to Inglewood's top star, five-star 2026 prospect Jason Crowe Jr. He scored 55 points that game, while Arenas had 34.

Alijah Arenas and the Chatsworth Chancellors are now on a two-game losing streak

Chatsworth was considered one of the best public schools in California, especially with a five-star like Alijah Arenas leading the team. However, after its last two games, the team has been slipping in its win-loss record and is now down to 9-3 after its back-to-back defeats.

The team had been criticized for its lack of defense, especially as it allowed an opposing player to score over 50 points in two straight games. They do have a chance to bounce back, though, as the Chancellors are scheduled to take on Long Beach Poly to kick off 2025.

Chatsworth had a red-hot start to its season, with Arenas scoring his 2,000th point during Chatsworth's season opener against Verdugo Hills on Nov. 11. This was followed by a win against fellow five-star and NBA legacy Tajh Ariza and Westchester on Nov. 19. This led to a 6-0 start to the season before the team finally had its first loss against Western Christian on Dec. 19.
