College hoops fans have already started to fantasize about the prospect of Dream City Christian (Arizona) basketball star Ikenna Alozie playing for their college. Alozie is one of the top prospects in the Class of 2026.
Although nothing is decided yet, the 6-foot-2 shooting guard has said he has more offers from more than five schools and has also been contacted by Alabama, Louisville, Washington, Arizona, Houston, Kansas and Rutgers.
Alozie has only visited two schools, Arizona and Washington, but offers from Providence, Oregon, Arizona State, St. John’s, Creighton, Georgetown, Villanova, Oklahoma State and UCLA remain on the table, per On3’s Joe Tipton on Tuesday.
However, hoops fans are keen to see where the four-star Glendale, Arizona, native will play college basketball, with some questioning the Huskies' interest.
“what is Washington doing here lol let's get real,” a fan said.
"Washington??" a fan wrote, seemingly surprised by Washington’s interest.
Meanwhile, others were split between Arizona, Kansas and Louisville as Ikenna Alozie's potential destination.
“#BearDown Arizona,” another fan wrote.
"Jayhawk," one said.
“Arizona Wildcat,” a post read.
“Really really like this kid. Was hoping UK could pull some magic but looks like they’re prioritizing Kinney, Crowe Jr, and Holt over Alozie. Someone’s gonna get a DAWG,” another fan said about his potential.
"No place like the Ville," a fan posted.
Washington leads the race for Ikenna Alozie
While some fans may feel Ikenna Alozie should not go to Washington, the Huskies are leading the race to sign the ninth-ranked prospect in the Class of 2026, according to On3 rankings.
The publication also gives Washington a 54.4% chance of signing the Dream City Christian shooting guard. However, given that Alozie is from Arizona, the youngster may decide to commit to the Wildcats, who have been given a 16.9% chance of signing him.
Also, these are the two schools he has visited, suggesting he is considering them. But Kentucky could also be a choice after coach Mike Pope paid Alozie a visit last year. He is one of the few guards, alongside Jason Crowe, Caleb Holt, Brandon McCoy Jr. and Tay Kinney, in the 2026 class whom Pope is hoping to recruit.
Still, Ikenna Alozie, who is of Nigerian origin and has a $528,000 million On3 NIL valuation, is taking his time before making a decision.
