During the game between Chatsworth and Prescott, Alijah Arenas, son of former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, scored a massive 56 points, while Prescott's Uriah Tenette had 54 points. The two combined for 110 points during the game, which Prescott won, 93-87, on Friday. However, the game raised many eyebrows.
The comments section on the 'Ballislife' post was bombarded by hoops fans who criticized both teams over their lack of defense, as both Tennette and Arenas were seen not doing much on the defensive end while the other players scored at will.
"Nobody plays defense anymore smh," one commenter said.
"Bro if Alijah cant guard the other teams best player then why should he be ranked higher? Im rooting for bro but damn back to back 50 balls on your team and you wont guard em???" another fan noted.
"No defense just alotta buckets looking like training drills smh," an Instagram user wrote.
Commenters were not just slamming both stars for their lack of defense but also for their lack of passing, with many pointing out that both barely passed to their teammates.
"Only time they teammates had the ball was to pass that shi right back to them😂," one commenter said.
"Just let them play one on one if they ain’t gonna pass. What’s the point?" another fan wrote.
"Pass the Ball!!!!" another fan exclaimed.
The game came just 24 hours after the five-star showdown between Alijah Arenas and Jason Crowe Jr., which Crowe and his team, Inglewood, won. Crowe had 55 points during that game, and this was where many of the criticisms against Arenas happened, as he allowed the other star player to score 50+ points on back-to-back losses.
Uriah Tenette scored a game-tying shot vs. Alijah Arenas and Chatsworth to send the game to overtime
The game between Chatsworth and Prescott was close, with Chatsworth leading with only a few seconds left. It was Tenette who saved his team as he hit the game-tying shot to send the game to overtime.
It was a back-and-forth contest, however, as both Tenette and Arenas put on an offensive show. Tenette had 50 in regulation, while Arenas had 48. Prescott eventually pulled ahead to win the game, sending Chatsworth to a two-game losing streak. The Chancellors are now 9-3 after the loss, while Prescott has improved to a 5-2 record.
