Chris Henry Jr.'s recruitment process
Chris Henry Jr. is a top wide receiver prospect in the 2026 class. He's the No. 1 wide receiver in his class, per the 247Sports Composite Ranking and the On3 Industry Ranking. Son of the late Cincinnati wide receiver Chris Henry, Henry Jr. is one of the most in-demand prospects in the 2026 class.
He boasts more than 30 college offers, per 247Sports, including offers from LSU, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama and Ohio State. However, the Buckeyes beat stiff competition from their rivals to get Henry committed. Notwithstanding, the race to sign the standout receiver is far from over, as Ohio State continues to face competition from its Big Ten rivals.
The Oregon Ducks and the USC Trojans are two particular programs pushing to flip the top receiver prospect from the Buckeyes. He went on unofficial visits to the two programs in November. His visit to Eugene on Nov. 9 was to see the Ducks’ game against the Maryland Terrapins. Henry spoke to On3 after the game, detailing his impression of the team:
“The atmosphere was crazy at the Maryland game. What keeps taking me back to Oregon is how close I am with the coaches and how they are doing something special there.”
Henry also confirmed that his relationship with the Ducks’ wide receivers coach, Junior Adams, is a big influence on him:
“I am really close with Coach Adams. With him and how I love the culture there, my interest in Oregon is really high. Oregon will be one of my official visits.”
Chris Henry Jr. picked up a season-ending injury early in the 2024 season against Bishop Gorman on Sept. 6. He has since begun his recovery after undergoing surgery.
