College commitment was a long cherished dream for Jake West
Receiving college offers and finally enlisting for the favorite program is a dream for every basketball player. However, a few cherish this dream long before they play high school basketball, and Jake West is one such player.
The 6-foot-3 point guard from Philadelphia, PA, who boasts 1.5 million followers on TikTok and over 240,000 on Instagram, was laser-focused on making his way to college basketball since childhood.
He was committed to his goal to the point that he used to play out recruiting scenarios in his head.
“Oh, yeah, we used to do fake commitments. I had Kentucky, but I ultimately decided with, you know, the best fit for me,” West said in an interview with MADE Hoops last month.
He averaged 14.0 points and 4.0 assists per game with Team Final on the Nike EYBL circuit. It brought him over 12 college offers. He committed to the Northwestern Wildcats on Nov. 14.
