Olivia Miles, the 21-year-old point guard for Notre Dame, is a basketball sensation with a remarkable career. Before she joined the Fighting Irish’s roster in January 2021, Miles was a high school basketball star.

She played for the Blair Academy, Blairstown, New Jersey, where she was instrumental in her team’s Prep A state title.

At Blair Academy, Olivia Miles showcased her versatility and leadership, averaging 13.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game during her junior season.

Besides, she also stood out in the AAU circuit. Miles competed with the Philadelphia Belles on the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) circuit, where her team clinched the prestigious Nike Elite Youth Basketball League championship in 2019.

As a five-star recruit, Miles was widely recognized for her basketball IQ, court vision and playmaking ability. She earned a spot on the roster for the Jordan Brand Classic, further cementing her status as an elite prospect.

Her exceptional high school performance secured her a spot on the United States national under-16 team for the 2019 FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship. Averaging 5.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game, she helped Team USA win the gold medal.

Olivia Miles achieves a feat never seen before in Notre Dame basketball history

Since joining the Fighting Irish team, Miles has proven to be one of the most skilled and valuable players in the program. She is averaging around 17.2 points per game, including 6.5 rebounds and 6.7 assists. But last Sunday, the young point guard truly stunned fans with a feat no one in Notre Dame's history has ever done before.

The Fighting Irish were up against Loyola Maryland, and Olivia Miles was dominating the court with her game. Besides her 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, Olivia also recorded her fifth triple-double of her collegiate career.

Her remarkable achievement made her the all-time leader in triple-doubles for Notre Dame. Besides, she also became the only player, male or female, in the Fighting Irish’s 128 years of existence to achieve that milestone.

Her exceptional performance enabled her team to secure a commanding 97-54 victory over Loyola Maryland. Coach Niele Ivey was truly elated over Mile’s performance.

“I thought Liv did an incredible job of leading us. She had a triple-double— her passing was phenomenal. She made some passes I’ve never seen in my entire life. It was so amazing,” Coach Ivey shared in the post-game conference.

Olivia Miles’ historic milestone not only cements her legacy at Notre Dame but also reinforces her status as one of the most promising talents in college basketball today.
