Four-star recruit and son of the former Philadelphia 76ers player Jason Richardson, Jaxon Richardson is a Top 30 recruit in the Class of 2026. While his father was a dunking legend, winning both the 2002 and 2003 NBA Slam Dunk Contests, he also seems to be following in his father's footsteps.
Playing for the Columbus Explorers against Utah Prep, Richardson rose high to finish down hard, just like his father. He was seen finishing putbacks, grabbing offensive rebounds, converting alley-oops and even defending with just one shoe on.
Some highlights of Richardson's game were posted by Ballislife and the hoops fans were quick to react to the 6-foot-6 small forward's performance:
Some fans, including Richardson himself, commented on the post, talking about dunking on his teammate Eric Dibami:
"On ya teammates neck is crazy work🤣🤣," commented a fan.
Another fan commented about Richardson finishing the dunk on his teammate, "Bro just dunked on his own mans 😂😂😂😂 smh 🤦🏽♂️."
Jaxon Richardson also commented on the post, apologizing to his teammate, "@eric_dibami my bad fam "😭
There were other fans who thought dunking over your teammate was crazy. However, some fans did not agree with the post's caption, refusing to believe that Richardson was dunking like this father:
"Na coco puffs over ya own tmate head is crazy," commented a fan.
This fan stated that Jason Richardson had his elbows over the rim when he dunked the ball, "Hell nah JRich elbows use to be over the rim lol."
Another fan claimed Jaxon Richardson's dunk were not like his father's, "Nice but not like pops."
