Bryce James will enter the final year of his high school career in 2024. His brother, Bronny James, was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this year. As the children of NBA legend LeBron James, the sports world spotlight shines brightly on them.
While Bryce James is currently a four-star recruit, and many think that because of the influence of LeBron James, he will be recruited into a school with a top basketball program. However, Kiyan Anthony, son of Carmelo Anthony, disagrees with that assumption.
Anthony made an appearance on the "Sloane Knows" podcast to talk about the AAU circuit. When he was asked about the most underrated player, this is what he said:
“I feel Bryce James could get a little more recognition when it comes to offers and stuff like that. Him being who he is, people think everything is given to him but he actually works hard. I feel like he deserves a bit more when it comes to that type of stuff.”
According to ESPN, Bryce James has a scout grade of 80 and has offers from Duquense and Ohio State. According to the scouting report by On3.com, he is good at converting shots from the corners. He could also play as a floor general and spread the floor when needed. While shooting, James has a quick release and is consistent in finding his shots.
What happened when Bryce James and Kiyan Anthony locked horns at Nike EYBL?
Kiyan Anthony played for Team Melo in the AAU circuit, while James played for the Strive For Greatness team when the two faced each other at the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League in Indiana in May.
Both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony were present to watch their sons play as SFG grabbed a 71-65 win. However, that is not the first time they shared the court. Both Kiyan Anthony and James teamed up last year at the Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas and played for the Strive For Greatness 16 and under team.
Anthony also made an appearance on the "7PM in Brooklyn" podcast to talk about playing agianst Bronny James in the NBA:
"We could play against each other like we played in high school," Kiyan said. "I was only a freshman and he was a senior but now that we could get to the league and play against each other that, it's crazy to just think about."
We might see Kiyan Anthony in Syracuse next season and Bryce James in Ohio State. Which one do you think is a talent to look out for?
