Overtime Elite star Meleek Thomas made a touching post on his Instagram story, posting an old photo of himself when he was still a young boy with his mother, Iesha Thomas. The post was in celebration of National Mom's Day, which is different from Mother's Day.

The post was a different one for the No. 8 ranked recruit for the Class of 2025, as his Instagram page is usually filled with posts about basketball.

When Thomas decided to skip his senior year at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School in Pennsylvania, it was his mother, Iesha, who confirmed the decision and that he would have an NIL deal with Overtime Elite.

In joining Overtime Elite, Thomas would be playing in an Atlanta-based basketball league for top young players between the ages of 16 and 20-years old. However, while players can make salaries or make money off NIL deals, there is still a school component for those who still have not yet graduated from high school, which includes Thomas.

Because he took the NIL deal, he is still eligible for college. Several schools have been trying to recruit him, with the 5-star guard recently paying an official visit to Arkansas and meeting with Razorbacks head coach John Calipari in Lafayette.

While he is the Class of 2025's No. 8 player, he is also its No. 2 ranked shooting guard. The 6-foot-3 prospect is known to be a scorer who can hit threes and can also defend and pass. On3 has noted that he also has great natural instincts and his dribble can get him open.

Meleek Thomas has several likely destinations for college

On3 has ranked the University of Pittsburgh as the school likeliest to recruit him. Thomas is a Pittsburgh native and he would likely choose to go to his hometown school.

Connecticut, Auburn, Arkansas and Alabama are all big contenders to recruit him as well, with the guard commenting that he was "intrigued" by Auburn when he made his official visit to the school last May. He stated that he was "pleased" with Auburn coach Bruce Pearl's desire to win.

He has also already visited other schools, including UConn and Kentucky. He is also planning to visit Alabama after his scheduled official visit to the school was canceled. Duke, St. John's, Indiana and Xavier have also sent offers to Thomas, but he did not include these schools in his top seven.
