Henderson made headlines again after breaking Alabama state’s all-time rushing record, previously set by Mac Campbell of Alexandria in 1997. Campbell, who held the record for 27 years with 9,839 rushing yards, was present as Henderson surpassed his achievement.

Henderson’s record-breaking performance saw him carry the ball 27 times, rushing for 199 yards and four touchdowns, which propelled his career rushing total to an astounding 9,935 yards.

This historic run also contributed to Elba’s 40-24 win over Florala in a pivotal Class 1A, Region 2 game, marking a remarkable season for Henderson with 2,625 rushing yards and 46 touchdowns.

Having committed to Auburn University, Henderson’s high school career has been exceptional. He has amassed 10,481 all-purpose yards and 178 touchdowns.

Auburn's 2025 recruiting class welcomes elite running back Alvin Henderson from Elba

Auburn Tigers commit Alvin Henderson stands as one of the nation’s top running back prospects. According to 247Sports recruiting analyst Cooper Petagna, Henderson possesses immense potential for collegiate success. In a scouting report released in April 2024, Petagna noted:

"He’s a sudden runner, demonstrates the ability to play in both a power or zone scheme, the Alabama native exhibits excellent short area burst and separation quickness at the second level to create space between defenders."

Henderson has reflected on his growth during his senior year:

“To be honest, I think I’ve improved as an overall complete back who can do whatever my coaches ask me to do.”

In addition to his commitment to Auburn, Henderson received offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Ohio State and Penn State.
