Senior night will see the Boozer brothers play in front of the home fans for the last time as Columbus takes on Coral Park. Columbus is currently the No. 2 team in the country and No. 1 in the state of Florida with a 14-3 record. They also have a perfect home record of 6-0 so far this season.

Following their game against Coral Park, the Explorers will still play four matches away from home, starting with a clash against Notre Dame on Saturday.

Their penultimate game will be against Westminister Academy on Jan. 28 before rounding off their season against Link Academy on the last day of this month.

Duke-bound Cameron Boozer leaves Columbus as an Explorers legend

Cameron Boozer’s time as an Explorer may be coming to an end, but his impact will never be forgotten. The 6-foot-9 power forward recorded 22.2 points, 11.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in his junior year before going on to help the school win the state championship in his sophomore year, averaging 21.1 points, 11.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.0 blocks per game.

His performance in his sophomore year earned him the Gatorade Florida Boys Basketball Player of the Year award at the age of 15. This is in addition to the Florida Mr. Basketball and Mr. Basketball USA awards he received the same year.

This season, Boozer helped Columbus beat Montverde Academy 59-57 to win the City of Palms Classic for the first time in the school’s history. Boozer’s performance in the competition earned him the co-MVP of the tournament along with Darius Acuff Jr.

With his high school basketball career coming to an end, the power forward, with an NIL value of $1.6M as per On3, will now aim to do more when he starts college basketball at his father’s alma mater, Duke.
