The Colorado Buffaloes capped off a phenomenal season with a 9-3 record, and much of the success can be attributed to the dynamic duo of quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter. However, with Shedeur likely heading to the NFL after this season, the Buffaloes are preparing for a new era led by five-star quarterback signee Julian Lewis.

Lewis is seemingly already trying to fit the role, as he was seen doing “The Shedeur” celebration of flashing his watch in a Colorado hoodie.

The move gained national attention last season when Shedeur showed off his Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15500 watch while trading words with Nebraska receiver Billy Kemp IV during warmups at Folsom Field. It even caught on in the NFL, with stars like Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams replicating it.

During his first FBS season last year, Shedeur completed 69.3% of his passes for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns. This season, he has elevated his game even further by recording 3,926 passing yards and 35 touchdowns for a 74.2% completion rate.

Now, the torch will be passed to Lewis, who signed with Colorado on Wednesday. He has been a national sensation since his middle school days and is known as a "polished, productive signal-caller" with pinpoint accuracy.

Shedeur Sanders reacts to Julian Lewis committing to Colorado

Julian Lewis was a USC commit earlier before decommitting from the Trojans last month and giving his pledge to the Buffaloes in late November. His commitment was like a dream-fulfilling moment for Shedeur Sanders as he publicly addressed Lewis as his successor.

Shedeur made a post on X following the Carrollton star's pledge.

"@JulianLewis10 Legendary," Sanders wrote.

Lewis’ on-field performances back up the hype, as he was named the 2024 Gatorade Georgia Football Player of the Year on Friday, earning the accolade for back-to-back seasons. Despite battling an injury, he threw for 193 yards in a state championship game, leading Carrollton to its second title game appearance in three seasons.

This season, Julian Lewis has completed 200 of 257 passes for 2,842 yards and an impressive 40 touchdowns. He is the No. 6 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 3 quarterback in the 2025 cycle and the No. 1 player in Georgia, according to Rivals.
