Duke University hosted Virginia Tech on New Year's Eve at the Cameron Indoor Stadium. Cameron Boozer was spotted in the crowd, watching the game. Boozer. the No. 2 ranked overall prospect from the Class of 2025, committed and signed with Duke last year and is expected to replace Cooper Flagg once he leaves for the NBA next year.
Duke even posted about Cameron being there on its Instagram Stories.
The Duke Blue Devils won 88-65, with Cooper Flagg contributing 20 points, three rebounds, six assists and four steals. Meanwhile, Sion James recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds (a career high).
Other Blue Devils players in double digits included Tyrese Proctor with 13, Kon Kneuppel with 13, Isaiah Evans with 12, and Mason Gillis with 10. Duke went undefeated in December, finishing 6-0. The team is now 11-2 and 3-0 versus other ACC opponents.
Cameron and Cayden Boozer chose Duke University over their hometown school, Miami. The twins chose their father's legacy with the Blue Devils, as former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer won the NCAA national title with Duke in 2001.
Duke targeting Cameron Boozer's teammate, 5-star 2026 prospect Caleb Gaskins
Duke's 2025 class is considered the best, with five stars such as Cayden and Cameron Boozer, and Shelton Henderson, as well as four-star power forward Nikolas Khamenia. However, Duke coach Jon Scheyer is also already looking to the Class of 2026.
Scheyer is interested in recruiting five-star 2026 prospect Caleb Gaskins, who plays with the Boozer Twins not only for the Columbus Explorers but also for their AAU organization Nightridas Elite. He also used to play with Cooper Flagg, as Gaskins was a member of the unbeaten Montverde Academy Eagles team that won the 2024 Chipotle national championship.
When Duke recruiters visit Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, Florida, they are not just checking with Cayden and Cameron, but also Gaskins. The Blue Devils are facing stiff competition, though, as Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU and Villanova are also interested in the five-star junior.
ZAGSBLOG's Charlie Parent spoke with Gaskins during last Sunday's loss to Link Academy at the Jordan Holiday Classic and he praised the program, saying that he thinks it is a "really good school."
