Class of 2026 prospect and son of 3x NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, Alijah Arenas took to Instagram on Nov. 25 to share a post by 10x NBA All-Star James Harden.
Arenas had also shared Harden's post after he passed Ray Allen for the second spot on the NBA's all-time 3-pointers made list on Nov. 17. However, this time, he shared the Clippers' star's post with a song on his story:
Harden himself talked about Arenas in a clip shared by 'The Hoop Spill' on Instagram, stating that the 6-foot-4 guard had a similar game to him:
"I (saw) Alijah this summer, and he just kind of reminded me of myself in the sense of just playing against pros as a junior in high school, and that's how you get better," Harden said. "You learn the physicality; you learn the skill set and what you've got to get to."
Alijah Arenas has been seen practicing with NBA players such as 14x NBA All-Star Kevin Durant, Indiana Pacers' Benedict Mathurin, Golden State Warriors' Naz Reid and Moses Moody.
Arenas ranks at the fourth spot nationally, second in the shooting guard position and third in California in the Class of 2026. He averaged 30.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.6 blocks in 27 games in the 2022-23 campaign.
In his sophomore year last season, Arenas improved his offensive stats. He had 33.0 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 2.9 apg and 1.3 spg in 35 games.
During an interview with Susolu Water on Oct. 8, his father Gilbert Arenas described his game as a mixture of Kyrie Irving and Devin Booker:
"When people ask me what type of game he has, I mean it's a mixture of Kyrie Irving's dribbling. I'm putting in a little bit of Devin Booker's pull-up game. I'm pulling from the great, adding it and giving it to him so it's this combo, mix-up of everything."
James Harden in the stands for Alijah Arenas vs Tajh Ariza
Alijah Arenas locked horns against the son of the 2009 NBA Champ Trevor Ariza's son, Tajh Ariza, in the 2024 Westside Tip-Off Classic High School Basketball tournament.
The game finished with a close 58-56 win for Arenas' Chatsworth High School. However, what made the game special was James Harden's visit as he watched from the sidelines:
Arenas finished with 25 points while Ariza scored 14. Both the players have one more year before they have to make a decision on their college.
