While everyone awaits the decision of the No. 1 prospect of the Class of 2025 Aaliyah Chavez, she continues to have excellent moments on the court. Chavez entered her senior year at Monterey High School in Lubbock, Texas. During Monterey's nonconference game against Estacado on Tuesday, she shared an adorable picture with her cousin on her Instagram story.

Monterey continued its unbeaten streak with a dominant 93-33 win against the Matadors. Chavez led the scoring with 47 points, including 10 3-pointers.

Some of her highlights were posted on Instagram by Ballislife Womens Basketball where Chavez dribbled past players with ease and converted buckets. She was also able to make shots off the dribble and finish through contact:

Aaliyah Chavez leads Monterey with 31.3 points 9.1 rebounds and 3.4 steals. Furthermore, she has continued to show improvement across the board.

In her freshman year, Chavez played 39 games and averaged 25.7 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 6.7 apg and 2.3 spg. The next season, she recorded 30 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 5.2 apg and 3.1 spg. In her junior year, she played 35 games and averaged a double-double of 37.8 ppg and 10.1 rpg, along with 4.4 apg and 3.5 spg.


Which college has the highest chance of recruiting Aaliyah Chavez?

Chavez has been on the radar of top colleges, including Oklahoma, UCLA, Texas Tech, LSU, Texas and South Carolina, among others. During an interview with On3, she talked about the kind of coach she wants to play for:

"I don’t want a coach that’s low energy, and I need to make sure that they’re going to be there the whole time," Chavez said in July. "I don’t want a coach that’s just going to be there for two years. I want them to be there all four years."

According to On3's recruitment prediction machine, Oklahoma leads the race to land Chavez at 37%. UCLA is a close second at 32.3%, followed by Texas Tech with 9.8% and LSU and Texas with an 8.2% probability.
