Ohio State’s highly-touted quarterback recruit, Tavien St. Clair, recently took to Instagram to share a special homecoming moment. In response to a fan question asking for his favorite homecoming picture, the five-star recruit from Bellefontaine, Ohio, proudly posted a photo with his mother, Patricia St. Clair.

The image holds sentimental value, as Patricia was also recently named Tribe Member of the Week, adding to the significance of the occasion. St. Clair was honored as homecoming king, an event typically featuring a dance, a sporting competition and a week of school spirit activities.

The Bellefontaine High School quarterback, who passed for 3,083 yards and 37 touchdowns during his junior season in 2023, has been committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes since the summer.

His presence has been noted both on the field and at the sidelines, as he’s been a regular at Ohio Stadium, observing the Buckeyes’ journey. Reflecting on the current team’s energy, Tavien St. Clair remarked:

“You definitely can feel it in the air. Just stepping in the locker room or being around the guys in warmups, there's a confidence. There's just a vibe of domination, like they're just going to go out and dominate whoever they play."

St. Clair’s athletic achievements have only grown, highlighted by his MVP honor at the Rivals Five Star Camp in June 2024. St. Clair’s career stats showcase his development, with 8,158 passing yards, 75 touchdowns and a 66.5% completion rate over 37 games.

Tavien St. Clair once reflected on Ohio State's commitment and rise to stardom

Nearly a year after verbally committing to Ohio State, Bellefontaine quarterback Tavien St. Clair feels nothing but gratitude for the experience.

"It’s truly been a blessing," St. Clair shared in an interview with Dayton Daily News in June. “I’ve gotten to meet former players and former coaches from Ohio State and really just build relationships with some of the players I grew up watching, including C.J. Stroud, Troy Smith and Braxton Miller."

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound prospect has gained recognition throughout Ohio Stadium, Columbus, and beyond as the next potential star quarterback for the Buckeyes.

“Even at, like, the spring game, I actually had autographs to sign and things like that, so it was just a pretty cool moment just to know that people notice you,” he said.

Tavien St. Clair’s rapid rise in the recruiting world has been remarkable, as he now ranks No. 2 nationally for the class of 2025, according to 247Sports. By his sophomore year, St. Clair was already on the radar of national programs, receiving offers from Michigan, Florida, Illinois, Iowa State and Louisville.

In May, Ohio State entered the mix, followed by Alabama and LSU in June. St. Clair committed to the Buckeyes on June 22, fulfilling a dream sparked by his first conversation with former Ohio State offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson after his freshman year.
