LSU signee Grace Knox, a five-star recruit, appreciated Bishop Gorman junior Aaliyah Spiaght on Instagram on Saturday.
Spaight posted a carousel of eight pictures with the caption:
“In a life full of wins, the losses I charge to the game so we ball regardless.”
Grace Knox, a 6-foot-2 small forward, reacted with:
“❤️🤞🏼.”
The other comment, more verbal than the former, read,
“10 b puttin in that work”
Aaliah Spaight, a junior point guard in the 2026 class, was the 2023-24 Nevada MaxPreps High School Girls Basketball Player of the Year. Recently, she also was the MVP at the 2nd Annual Bishop Gorman Girls Showcase. She scored 28 points against Brentwood in Game 1.
Grace Knox and Aaliyah Spaight's college commitment status
Grace Knox and Aaliyah Spaight played together in the Mamba League Invitational 2024, a two-day annual basketball tournament held on Aug. 23 to honor Kobe Bryant's legacy on his birthday. The tournament showcases the top boys and girls high school students.
Knox and Spaight, both on Team Black, won the second Mamba Invitational together.
While Spaight is a four-star prospect ranked 59th in the 2026 class, Knox, who signed with the LSU Tigers last month, is ranked sixth in the 2026 class by ESPN and first among small forwards.
Grace Knox chose LSU over Tennessee, Texas and USC. She cited her bond with Tigers coach Kim Mulkey as the reason behind her choice, saying that Mulkey’s "passionate" coaching style would bring the best out of her.
As a junior, Knox averaged 17.2 points and 11.9 rebounds per game.
"She's one of those players that can make the big shot, get the big rebound and not be afraid of the moment," Etiwanda High School (California) coach Stan Delus said.
