Caleb Holt, the No. 3 ranked overall recruit from the Class of 2026 who plays for Grayson High School, made his presence felt during their first game at the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Florida.
Many college coaches were in attendance to watch him play, including Kansas coach Bill Self.
Self was reportedly with assistant coach Norm Roberts during the Grayson vs. Central Catholic game. Holt led his team to victory, 96-55. Assistant coaches from Louisville, Illinois, Arkansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Florida State and others were also present. He had 20 points during that win, along with three rebounds and three assists.
With their win against Central Catholic, Grayson now awaits the winner of the Columbus vs. Great Crossing on Thursday. Columbus is led by the Boozer Twins, No. 2 ranked Cameron and No. 23 ranked Cayden Boozer, the twin sons of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer.
According to On3, the Grayson Rams are Georgia's No. 4 team. Caleb Holt is joined by four-star Georgia commit Jacob Wilkins and three-star Kennesaw State commit Amir Taylor on the team. They are expected to give Columbus and the Boozer Twins a run for their money in the quarterfinals, assuming Columbus avoids an upset by Great Crossing.
Auburn is considered the favorite to recruit Caleb Holt so far
Bill Self coming to the City of Palms Classic personally to watch Caleb Holt play suggests Kansas is interested in him. However, Self and the others have to work a lot harder as right now, Auburn is considered the favorite.
According to On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine, Auburn is the favorite with a 27.3% chance to recruit him, followed by Ole Miss at 23.9% and then Alabama at 15.5%. Kansas is listed at less than a 1% chance, though with that personal appearance from Self himself, that may change.
Other schools interested in Holt include Georgia Tech, Georgia, Tennessee, Houston, Tennessee State, Kansas State, Houston, Mississippi State, UConn, Georgetown, North Carolina, Louisville, Florida, LSU and more.
